Privacy Policy

What Meetlop collects when you register, verify a website, request backlinks, or make a payment — and how that information is stored, used, and protected.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Meetlop collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you register an account, verify a website and domain email, request or place backlinks, purchase a promotion, or otherwise interact with the platform.

MLP-LEGAL-02.2

2. Information We Collect

Account and profile data: display name, username, business email address, password (stored as a salted hash), profile photo, bio, country, and timezone.

Website and domain data: website URL, domain, category, niche, language, HTTPS status, and — where available in future versions — authority and traffic metrics.

Verification data: the six-digit email verification code exchange, the page URL where your website-verification snippet is placed, and the crawl results confirming that placement.

Backlink and tracking data: assigned and submitted backlinks, tracking identifiers, anchor text, target URLs, and the results of every automated crawl performed on those links.

Login and device data: IP address, browser, device type, approximate country, and timestamps for each login, retained as part of your login history.

Payment data: transaction records, currency, and status from our payment gateways (Flutterwave, Paystack, PayPal). Meetlop does not store full card numbers; those are handled directly by the payment processor.

Security and fraud-detection data: signals used to identify hidden links, cloaked links, invisible-text links, reciprocal-abuse patterns, and multiple accounts tied to a single domain.

Analytics data: aggregate usage statistics collected through standard analytics tooling to understand platform performance.

3. Why We Collect It

  • To confirm you own the website and domain email you register, and to prevent duplicate or fraudulent accounts.
  • To operate the backlink assignment engine, points wallet, and Trust Score system.
  • To run the automated crawler that verifies backlink health, dofollow status, and tracking-identifier integrity.
  • To process promotion purchases and reconcile payments.
  • To detect fraud and abuse, and to secure accounts against unauthorized access.
  • To send account-critical email (registration codes, password resets, email-change confirmations) and in-app notifications.
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. Storage & Retention

Data is stored in an encrypted-at-rest MySQL database with access restricted to authorized systems and personnel. Points ledgers, activity logs, and audit logs are retained indefinitely because they form a permanent historical record required for dispute resolution and fraud investigation. Login history and crawl results are retained for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy security and legal requirements. You may request earlier deletion of personal data that is not required for these purposes, as described in Section 8.

MLP-LEGAL-02.5

5. Who Can Access Your Data

Access is limited to Meetlop administrators who require it to operate the platform — for example, to moderate reports, review verification submissions, or investigate suspected fraud — and to automated systems such as the crawler and the assignment engine. Meetlop does not sell personal information to third parties.

6. When Information May Be Shared

  • With payment gateways (Flutterwave, Paystack, PayPal) strictly to process a transaction you initiate.
  • With other users, but only to the limited extent necessary for a backlink exchange to function — for example, showing the linking website's domain and category in "My Links."
  • With law enforcement or regulators where Meetlop is legally compelled to do so.
  • With a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to the same privacy commitments.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Meetlop uses cookies for authentication, security, preferences, and analytics. Full detail is available in our Cookie Policy.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Meetlop supports these rights for users in the European Economic Area under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). To exercise any of these rights, contact help@meetlop.com. Note that some data, such as points-ledger and audit-log entries, may be retained even after deletion of other account data where necessary for fraud prevention, accounting, or legal compliance.

9. Children's Privacy

Meetlop is a business-to-business platform not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered an account, contact us and we will investigate and remove it as appropriate.
