1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device that let a website recognize your browser between visits. Meetlop uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) to keep the dashboard secure, functional, and personalized.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
Essential cookies: required for the platform to function at all — for example, maintaining your logged-in session while you move between "Assigned Backlinks," "My Links," and "Points Wallet."
Authentication cookies: confirm your identity after login so you are not asked to sign in on every page, including support for "Remember Me."
Security cookies: help detect suspicious login patterns, enforce rate limiting, and support CSRF protection on forms.
Session cookies: temporary cookies cleared automatically when you close your browser, used to carry state such as an in-progress backlink request through the confirmation step.
"Remember Me" cookies: a longer-lived cookie that keeps you signed in across visits when you opt in at login.
Preference cookies: remember interface choices such as light or dark mode and dashboard layout preferences.
Analytics cookies: help us understand aggregate usage patterns, such as which dashboard pages are used most, so we can improve performance and design.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Payment gateways (Flutterwave, Paystack, PayPal) and services such as Google reCAPTCHA and Google Analytics may set their own cookies when embedded on Meetlop pages, governed by their respective privacy policies.
4. Managing Cookies
Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings menu. You can also use your browser's private or incognito mode to limit cookie persistence for a session.
5. What Happens If You Disable Cookies
Disabling essential, authentication, or security cookies will prevent you from logging in, completing website verification, submitting backlinks, or using the payment flow, since these processes depend on maintaining a secure session. Disabling preference or analytics cookies has no effect on core functionality.
