1. The Placement Standard
Every backlink placed through Meetlop must meet all of the following:
- Do-follow. The anchor must not carry a
nofollow, sponsored, orugcrel attribute. - Natural placement. The link should sit within a real paragraph of body content, not in a sidebar link farm or footer link list created solely for exchange purposes.
- Contextual paragraph. The surrounding sentence should relate topically to the destination page.
- Relevant anchor text. Use the anchor text supplied in your backlink package exactly as provided.
- Visible placement. The link must be visible to a normal visitor — no hidden CSS, zero opacity, zero font size, or off-screen positioning.
- No JavaScript-only links. The anchor must exist in the page's initial HTML response unless your assignment explicitly supports JavaScript rendering.
- No redirects. The link must point directly to the assigned target URL without passing through a redirect chain.
- Correct tracking ID. The
data-meetloptracking attribute must match the identifier issued for that specific assignment and must never be altered. - Permanent placement. The link should remain in place for as long as your account is active; do not remove it after receiving points.
2. Good Placement Example
A short excerpt within an article, where the anchor reads naturally in a sentence relevant to the destination:
<p>Students exploring funding options should also review this <a href="https://website-b.com" data-meetlop="MLP-BL-9D41F8A2">scholarship guide</a> before applying.</p>
3. Bad Placement Examples
Hidden with CSS: <a href="..." style="display:none">...</a> — will fail verification immediately.
Nofollow manipulation: <a href="..." rel="nofollow">...</a> — does not satisfy the do-follow requirement.
Out-of-context link list: placing the anchor inside a generic "Resources" footer shared across dozens of unrelated links, disconnected from any relevant content.
Redirect wrapper: routing the anchor through a tracking or shortener URL before it reaches the assigned target.
4. Monthly Verification
In addition to the immediate check performed after submission, Meetlop's crawler re-checks every active backlink daily for recent submissions, weekly for all active links, and in a full monthly pass that determines whether your 5-point monthly reward is issued for that link. A link must pass every criterion above at the time of the monthly check to earn the reward.
5. Impact on Trust Score
Consistently well-placed, stable backlinks increase your Trust Score over time. Nofollow conversion, broken links, and removed placements reduce it. See our Points System Policy for how Trust Score interacts with rewards and assignment priority.
